The play upholds the feeling of love only through barriers and that ludicrous actions are made just for their young love to still be had. Whilst the Capulets consist of fine suede, leather and fabric clothing more closer to the traditional wear the cast consisted in the original play representing the etiquicy that the family holds. Overall this is a drastic change from the traditional Elizabethan costumes that Shakespeare had in his play and was solely used to modernise the characters and setting.
Imagery held more meaning behind the story and the families as well as expressing meaning to the story. For example the photo of the broken ring and titled “star-crossed lovers” was hinting towards the fate of Romeo and Juliet and that the traditional love story doesn’t follow. Another example of imagery is the the two corporate building being split by Jesus which represents their religious following and that they share a single common belief but that’s not enough to change the beliefs about each
