Film Review Of Gangs-Personal Narrative

Police lights, sirens and news vans lined the street, just another day on the job I thought. Pulling into the scene I flash my badge at some of the local cops on the scene as I am escorted to the body. As I got closer I instantly recognised the body, it was Russel Owston head of the biggest bikie gang in Melbourne. Looking at the deep bullet holes from a pistol in his stomach I think to myself that this is most likely a gang shooting. I take some notes about the scene and its location and head back to the station to analyze and gain further information.

Upon further analysis I found that the location is in between the location of a suspected HellRaisers hideout and the family’s local restaurant. This means that he could have potentially walking from one to the other. I also looked at the other prominent gangs in the area and found that recently the leader of Renegades had finished his jail sentence for a murder that ‘the HellRaisers committed. With this I called both the leader of Renegades and Russell’s daughter into the station for an interview. Russell’s daughter was first to arrive at the station and she was quite distressed and very sad about the situation. I took her to the interview room and started questioning, “I’m sorry about your loss, but can I ask you some questions on the matter?” I said

“Sure, no problem” she responded
“Do you know anyone who would want to hurt your dad?” I asked
“Um, the only person I can think of is the leader of the Renegades as he has been sending threats ever since getting out of prison” she responded
“Okay, and has he been acting any differently at home, any strange behaviours?” I

Published in 1993, “Monster: The Autobiography of an L.A. Gang Member,” is a memoir written by Sanyika Shakur. Set in East Los Angeles during the late 70s, 80’s and early 90s, Shakur’s book illustrates the overwhelming amount of violence that occurs due to conflicts between rivalry gangs. As mentioned in the book, the majority of the conflict is not between the Crips and the Bloods but instead between Crips and other Crips. The book offers a unique difference from most other books about gang life because the author, also known as “Monster Kody” throughout most of the text, is a notorious member of the “Eight Trays Gangster Crips” and manages to work his way through the ranks to Original Gangster. Just graduating the sixth grade, Kody has…

Gangs of New York is a movie in the entertainment industry. However, as a historical tool, it is exaggerated. The reconstruction of the Paradise Square and the wooden neighborhood that was overcrowded and the cave like basements enables us to view and experience how living in the past felt. The film also has a performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, who maintains a New York accent throughout the movie. The accent does not exist anymore, and it is anachronistic.…

As most know, it is taboo to alter a crime scene before it has been processed by appropriate officials. It should always be remembered that each time the body of the decedent is touched or moved, there is a significant possibility that valuable evidence could be lost or contaminated. The Locard’s exchange principle is an idea that whenever someone makes contact with an item, person, or location physical evidence is either taken or left behind, which is then collected and used as forensic evidence. Because the officer touched the revolver with his bare hands, he contaminated the evidence by possibly leaving his hairs, fibers and or fingerprints. At that time, the officer’s prints and hairs should be collected to use as a comparison when the evidence is tested.…

It’s commonly told that any animal with sympathy, will willingly take in another creature as their own. Such as wolves raising a human child, a familiar tale of an unlikely group loving an anomaly to their standards. In such cases, the species can be very much alike, such as a human to a human, however their personalities, traits, and natural environments are very different. This is seen throughout The Outsiders, within the Greaser Gang everyone has a different home life, personality, and have all grown up differently. The likeness of each other is their social status and the fact that they all love each other.…

In the book The Outsiders there is a lot of gang violence including street fights, robberies, and ganging up on one of the the opposing gang members. S.E. Hinton describes the Socs as the wealthier people that live in the better parts of town and the Greasers as the poor trashy part of town. Even though the Socs and Greasers aren’t that different, they still have war with each other for no apparent reason. Some people don't understand that Socs don’t act as the ideal Socs are, and some Greasers don’t act as the ideal Greaser. What sparked the big fight was when Johnny was defending himself and stabbed a Soc so Ponyboy didn’t get drowned by a few of them.…

Seeing the police cars arriving, hearing ambulances honk their way through the busy streets, feeling the anxiousness, tasting the tears as they roll down my face, and smelling the pollution in the air, I realized I’m involved in a crime scene.
