Couple of days ago, I watched a movie called “The Roaring Twenties” which detailed the events of a WW1 veteran who came home from the fight only to find out that he couldn’t even get a decent job (even the job he was promised to keep before the war) and essentially turned to crime—leading a gangsta lifestyle surrounding prohibition period. It was probably one of the best—if not the best—film about gangsta genre I have ever seen and really change my perspective on 1920s.
I never considered much of the roaring twenties other than people were happy-go-lucky after the victory from WW1.
Although I knew the impact of alcohol becoming illegal (and discrimination among blacks and other groups of people)—it was interesting to see the brute reality
