Rachael McAdams stars as the leading woman in the movie. The movie is about two young people, Allie and Noah, who fall in love, and forces eventually pull them back together to get married to live a beautiful life together. Rachael’s acting in the movie is very well done because she uses a lot of emotion and hand movements to get her points across. For instance, in one scene, she is with Noah and says, “Why didn’t you write me, I waited for you for seven years.” Her tone is vulnerable, weak, and filled with sadness. Moreover, she sounds like she is about to cry and her facial expression shows that as well. Then, she says, “Now it’s too late.” She said this in a strong tone and voice because she wants to feel strong, but she is not strong because she has been without Noah for a long time. Rachel uses facial expressions, hand motions, drama, and emotions throughout this movie to make her acting stand out. She will scream, cry, and yell at the same time to heighten the drama and to make her acting outstanding. Also, she will move her hands a lot to get her points across and to emphasize her acting. There was a little method acting in the movie but not a lot because Rachael used emotions to get into her character but not on a personal level. She only played one side of Allie in the movie really good which was her angry, passionate side. I thought the loving Allie still seemed harsh and mean in some situations and scenes. This made her seem unloving and harsh which is not the intention. Furthermore, sometimes her tone was off like when she was being mean but her tone was too soft for the situation they were in. I did enjoy Rachel’s performance though in this movie because by using her emotions in the movie a lot she made the viewers feel the emotions she was feeling with
