Environment:
The environment is beautiful because of the subtle smell of the trees, the untouched snow, the amazing sky, and the sound of someone’s skis cutting through the snow. The camera is the best way to capture these amazing moments, the skier of course is the main subject, but what good would a ski film be without a environment? The environment also plays another major role in the film, it answers the audience’s questions like where are they? What are the conditions? The environment can easily answer these and many more questions during the film.

In the darwinian evolution of beauty, Dutton states that an act that takes effort is beautiful, and I agree because a skier and a filmmaker both invest a lot of effort. For the skier I think the subject’s form when their skiing and the crazy stuff their pulling off to make something look amazing.
