Cross Over Together By Rolando Analysis

“Cross Over Together” by Cyril Rolando is an image of soft bright colors containing a lighter purple, pink and blue for the water. In showing the softness in the colors and coolness with the shades and the arm around the girl gives off a cool, calm and collected feel. With the lines within the photo and the couple literally standing on water was the watch the path they shall cross together. In this particular photo all the lines are leading towards the center which is the end of the wave where as it forms as if the two individuals on the bottom right will cross through the tunnel it has formed. The amazing things about lines is that they are hidden they are not actual lines you can see but metaphorical lines that have you focus on a certain part of the photo without even noticing the image has done this to you. This tactic among many others is very useful and very powerful within the photo in leading you to see what the artist wants you to see. “Leading lines are one of the most effective and under-utilized compositional tools available to photographers.
