Several days have passed when we were assigned reflect about cultural stereotypes in this subject. Subsequently, I started contemplating on my personal experiences related to numerous stereotypes in the culture where I belong. Before I start to reflect on those experiences, I felt compelled to start with defining culture and stereotype, and providing several stories on how I experienced being stereotyped as a Filipino particularly in cyberspace. “Culture is the complex whole which includes knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, morals, custom, and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of the society” (Tylor, 1871). Meanwhile, his friends and elders who have been in the Philippines affirmed some of those photos that he has seen.
