What if the meaning of glue was given to certain components of life, such as a relationship, a family, a friendship, or a job? A commonly spoken phrase is calling someone the glue that holds everything together. I believe all aspects need that certain glue figure. Similarly to my childhood interactions with glue, and how it holds items together, a glue person does the little jobs that need to be done in order for a situation to run smoothly. A glue person does the small tasks and takes care of the little details that most people don 't think of. My high school basketball coach always said “when we do all the little things right, that is when we will start winning.” This is the same case with real life situations. When that glue person or group does the little things, situations will function properly and success will follow. Another comparison to the literal meaning of glue is the sense that comes with peeling off the dried glue. The feeling of appreciation is very similar or should be similar for those glue people. There should be a great feeling of appreciation for these people because of their importance in everyday functions. A custodian position is usually thought to be a low end job, that most people don 't want, but although it is not a fun job, it is a necessary job. The U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics says in 2014 there were about 2,360,600 custodian jobs in the united states. Imagine what would happen if we didn 't have these workers around. Facilities would be trashed, garbage everywhere, and restaurants would be unsanitary. Most likely, environmental agencies would shut down many operations because it wouldn’t be safe work conditions. In order for facilities to stay clean other workers would have to help maintain cleanliness, which would slow down production of their task at hand. So, although being a custodian is not a desired job, it is very necessary and holds everything together and keeps it running. The job of the stay at home mom on the other hand is not exactly an undesirable one, but like the custodian, they keep all in order. For a home to function properly all the small task need to be done. These tasks include laundry, doing the dishes, vacuuming, cooking and a countless number of other examples. Not to mention driving kids around and going to all their events. These are all tasks of the stay at home mom. For a period of time in my childhood, my mother stayed at home to take care of all the kids and the house. She felt like it was a necessity because my father had a lot of stress on
