SETTING THE SCENE: Late at night a middle age man (pt) walks into a bar and orders drink after drink until the bartender cuts the man off. He gets angry and stumbles out of the bar. On his way out he his grasping his abdomen and suddenly fall to the ground (in the middle of the bar) unconscious. An emergency medical responder happens to be in the bar and starts to assess the man but also called for help. EMS is activated.
Scene: It’s a Friday 11:10pm. A crowded Irish pub with drinks all over the place. Little to none personal space. Scene is safe. No harmful personnel or weapons.
EMR AT SCENE: Not every much this person can do since they have consumed some alcohol. Sizes up scene and ask bartender for gloves to have some type of BSI. Starts primary assessment. Immediately notices jaundice on skin and eyes. EMR places pt in recovery position. Pt becomes responsive.CAB/B:

The liver cirrhosis is still in the early stages so the doctor will only give medications but also warn pt about what will happen id condition worsens.
LIVER CIRRHOSIS- Alcohol causes the liver to get fat and inflamed which causes the liver cirrhosis. Which is when scar tissue replaces normal tissue in the liver. It happens because the liver is having been damaged over a long period of time (pt’s drinking). The scare tissue makes it hard for the blood to go through the veins.
ALCOHOL POSIONING- an overdose of alcohol. Alcohol is a drug and is a depressant because how it slows down a person’s speech, movement and reaction time.
TREATMENT: After breaking the news to the pt the doctor gives pt medications to help the liver cirrhosis. Medications: Diuretic, Ammonia reducer, Beta blocker, Synthetic hormones, Antibiotics, and Antiviral drug. BUT IF THE CONDITION WORSENS THEN A LIVER TRANSPLANT MAY BE NEEDED. (NO CURE TO LIVER CIRRHOSIS BESIDE A LIVER
