The sequence I looked at starts off with the two lead characters, the Narrator and Tyler walking to get the bus to their fight club. There are two fights in this sequence, one involving Tyler and the other involving the Narrator - which causes him to go to the hospital to get his eyebrow stitched up.

The lighting in the room is very dim with minimal light hinting that it is in a basement and that what they are doing is underground and unacceptable in society. One of the rules of fight club is that you have to take your shirt and shoes off, so in this fight sequence with Tyler we can clearly see how muscular he is. For the most part, Tyler is on top of his opponent with complete control and wins the fight hands down. The Narrator watches on from the crowd. He has his arms crossed and stands completely still smirking at the fight that is going on in front of him. It starts off as a medium long shot and slowly zooms in to a medium close up to emphasis his pleased attitude with the fight and shows how he is the only one not fully engaging as everyone else is shouting, jumping and very rowdy. When Tyler wins he stands up and the light hits his body, similar to a spotlight, making him the brightest thing in the room which is very dark anyway but this represents how he is important and
