The Fight against Gun Control “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people”, An argument used by many gun advocates. There are millions of gun owners across America. We use these firearms in our daily lives. Citizens of America use them for self-defense, target practice, hunting, and the most important from a tyrannical government. Our second amendment states that the United States Of America has the right to bear arms, but it seems that some citizens of America want to make it harder for us to own fire arms. Some want to ban semi-automatic rifles because “they kill people”. They also wish to ban high-capacity magazines; furthermore. they wish to ban fire arms overall. We have the best military, economy, and government, but is it possible that all of these things could become tyrannical? After the rise of Nazi Germany their version of gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill, and others, were unable to defend themselves against the “ Brown Shirts”, these people were arrested and exterminated (Hardy). Now is it not possible for this to happen to us? Could we not suffer from tyrannical government? If our government and these supporters decide to pass a bill making it harder for citizens of America to obtain firearms, how are we suppose to defend ourselves from the best military in the world? Instead of banning guns, why don’t we ban knives or other foreign objects that cause more deaths instead of firearms? The shootings also seem to occur in stricter gun law areas where firearms are prohibited or it is very difficult to own a firearm.
