Fiesta Quotes

In the story “Fiesta” by Junot Diaz, Yunior shows us his struggles with motion sickness and how much it affected him and his family specially how mad his father gets when that happens. We can see this in the quote “ The first time i got sick was in the van papi was taking me to the library. Rafa was with us and he couldn’t believe i threw up. I was famous for my steel-lined stomach. A third-world childhood could give you that. Papi was worried enough that just as quick as Rafa could drop off the books we were on our way home” Page 29.

This quote is something that was marked really hard in his memory as it affected him and his family because of all the arguments and drama it caused. This quote helps me understand a theme of Drown by showing me what was the main idea going on in that section, also by showing me what was the main problems and issues which leads us to the conclusion of what the theme was. What this quote suggest about the conflicts and characters that drive this stories is that it causes many problems between the characters, this problems affects the relationship between Rafa,Yunior and Ramon because it ruins Rafas plans on car trips.
