In 2011- 2013, I worked with the Ohio Gas Works as a field service representative, where I developed and demonstrated my ability as a multi-tasker who excels while under pressure. In this position, I turned customers gas services on and off, as well as serviced and repaired heaters and air conditioners. I was required to manage multiple tasks at once while performing this job, including recognizing and documenting safety hazards, checking the condition and operation of customers' appliances, and inspecting all gas piping for leaks. I also responded to emergency gas leaks with my primary task being; ensuring pedestrian safety. This specific task required that I remain alert, calm, and focused.…
After watching all of the available videos for the Field Experience Summary, I chose High School Biology, Part 2 as my favorite video. I selected this video because the teacher displays great knowledge of her students, she has provided wonderful materials for her activity, and she has the standards and objectives clearly stated on the whiteboard. In addition to the reasons previously stated, I chose this video because she covered a topic in my subject area. What initially intrigued me to watch the High School Biology, Part 2 video, is that I knew I might gain some insight into what I will be teaching in three short years. At the beginning of the video, it shows the teacher walking over to a male student and talking briefly with him before…
Please accept this letter and accompanying resume as evidence of my interest in applying for the Caseworker position with Community Legal Aid. My work experience coupled with my passion for furthering social justice causes is what I believe makes me the ideal candidate for the position. As a full-time medical secretary for the past year, I have experience communicating with clients, faxing, photocopying, managing schedules, and referring patients to various social services and community agencies (i.e. ODSP, OW, CHC etc..). As a result, I have become increasingly familiar with the unnecessary layers of bureaucracy and paperwork involved with such agencies. Additionally, my extensive customer service experience has also honed excellent communication…
Hello Dr. Kirkpatrick, I apologize for the multiple emails during an extremely busy time for you. I really appreciate your time, and I understand if you cannot reply. I wanted to write you to make a few comments, tell you a little more about myself, and to ask you a question. First, I wanted to mention to you that I am definitely applying (currently am doing so) to your program.…
Thank you for considering The University of North Florida as your home for the next four years. The admissions team is very displeased to inform you that there will not be room here for you at our college. After reviewing your essay and application we were all very entertained but doubtful we would ever be able to meet you. My favorite part of your application had to be when you explained why you didn’t do very well in your Spanish three class, “I got a C- in Spanish because yo no hablo espanol.” All of us who read your application got a kick out of that.…
My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me.…
Hi Katherine, Sorry for the late response. I've been out of town most of this week. Thank you for working with me but I have decided to decline admission. When I originally applied to the program, I planned to attend full-time without working. Since I work fulI-time and can only receive funding if I attend classes full-time, I don't think this is the best time for me to start the program.…
"I cannot give up Cornell" I had written in an appeal letter three years ago, in an attempt to petition my rejected application. Unfortunately, Cornell admissions had a policy of not accepting any appeal letter. As a result, although I've had the pleasure of fostering an undergraduate experience at UCLA, I still dream of the day of studying at Cornell. So, as I had done three years ago, I write this personal statement in the truest form of sincerity. I want tell you why Cornell University has been my school for the past ten years.…
I am contacting you to ask if you would be comfortable writing a recommendation letter for me. I will be applying to Spalding’s Occupational Therapy program during the current application period. Applications and recommendations are due by June 24. After taking your Effective Speaking and Interpersonal Communication courses, I feel like I have learned a lot of valuable information from you that will help me throughout my career. I enjoyed both of your classes and your teaching style.…
Two different issues: Summary: The one about field office... How long do we need to wait before we generate the serve notice? 1-8 month. Original notice could be confusing for the NCP. Robin spoke with Mark Biggs in Spokane.…
Field placement was what I looked forward to the most about entering my Senior Year of the Bachelor of Social Work program. I was enthusiastic to apply my classroom learning into direct practice out in the field. I have always been intrigued in working with at risk youth and finding ways to help them develop into the best version of themselves despite the injustices they have endured. Although, I was cognizant of the multitude of issues that impacts at risk youth I never specifically focused on youth homelessness. Therefore, I was astonished when I discovered that my field placement interview was scheduled at the Covenant House which is a homeless youth shelter in Detroit.…
Yesterday I received a letter of dismissal from DePaul school of nursing. I am aware that my grades have been low for the last two semesters in which I take full responsibility. I write this appeal letter to explain the cause and ask you to please consider reinstating me. I wish to state that my poor grades are not due to low ability or not being able to retain the material. Neither was it procrastination to study.…
I would like to apologize that it took so long to finish this cover letter for the appeal. I had surgery two weeks before finals, I got the denial a week before finals, and finals week was exhausting. I appreciate you taking your time to look over the information again and consider refunding most or all of my tuition from the two classes I had to drop. Yours…
In the world of education, school counselors are the building blocks. Without their guidance and advice, it is not possible for students to achieve their goals successfully. This quote by Bethany Hill says it all. He says, “Every child you pass in the hall has a story that needs to be heard. Maybe you are the one to hear it”.…
I took this class because I was considering becoming a social work major or human services major instead of psychology hoping to find a way that I can help people but, I realized that it takes a lot more than just wanting to help to be in this field. There isn’t one specific reason on why I’m not suited for the HS profession I just know that psychology is what is most suitable for me. I feel that is the major where I can find my flow, Where I can stay interested in my job but not feel overwhelmed by it. Even though, the human services field isn’t for me I am glad I took the class and I was able to see what the field is like and realize that it is out of my scope.…
