Field Working Experience Essay

The first word that comes to my mind when thinking about elderly people is knowledge. This is because they are already full of experiences and most of the time they want to give advice to younger ones. On my first fieldwork observation, I had the opportunity to participate in a SNF. What I liked was that most of the patients were willing to complete therapy and always had something to talk about. My goal for this course is get to know more in deep this population and how to provide the best service for them.

Field Experience at Wildwood and Ernest Manning My cohort of ten was assigned to visit two schools over a two-week period with a full week dedicated to each location. The two schools were Wildwood elementary and Ernest Manning high school and while their relative closeness to one another would suggest that some Wildwood students may eventually be at Ernest Manning, they are opposites in terms of their status, how they carry themselves, and what they believe to be most important for students. Wildwood elementary is an old school as observed from its small and outdated architecture. Classes are small and at times claustrophobic, especially when packed with 20-25 of the nearly 600 students making it difficult if not impossible to navigate the…

I have had many experiences in my life but the best one has to be my experience of going to Job Corps. The reason for me going to Job Corps was because I wanted to live a better lifestyle and to get my diploma and trade so I can better myself. Intelligence led us to doing such a mission to Capture/Kill a HVT in Afghanistan in late 2009. However, when they arrive they are faced with many hardships: inability to speak English, discrimination, and unfair wages in the worst jobs available. Due to earning low wages, immigrants live in unacceptable housing conditions. Because of their illegal status in the United States, immigrants are constantly taken advantage of. In spite of all the pain and suffering, field workers still work very hard to pick the fruits and vegetables American shoppers demand.…

My previous work experience has exposed me to a variety of team dynamics and I would describe my exposure as very positive. My love for connecting with people has been a major factor in my overall employment success, such as, two management roles before reaching my twenty’s and also a fulfilling career in the financial industry for nine years. Working in a customer service role for the last 14 years I have faced struggles with communication, as well as developed positive skills to work effectively with others. One of the most essential elements I have learned from working as a Financial Advisor is how to build trust with people. I firmly believe this is key to any successful relationship, rather an employment relationship or otherwise.…

The university provides a plenty of basic knowledge in various fields that will help students a lot in future career. However, some people argues that the university should pay more attention to the intrinsic value of the knowledge instead of considering whether these knowledge will be useful in the career. Others believed that learning the work-related knowledge can contribute to the better performance in the workplace. To my point of view, it is more practical and beneficial to provide students with the knowledge that can be used in the workplace. The knowledge will be more valuable when it has potential functions, especially when the learners know it will come in handy one day.…
