Field Trip: The Skull Cave

"I declare this lava bed to become a park," I hear President Calvin Coolidge. This Lava Bed is located on the border of California and Oregon. At this site you are able to see caves, take a tour around the park, go hiking on scenic trails, climb cinder cones and learn about volcanoes that are active or inactive. I think this field trip would be educational because we would be there and we would remember instead of pictures off the internet.

The tour around the park will be historical because there is four special things to look at for an example, Symbol Bridge. Symbol Bridge is where hieroglyphs are speared out through the area. Hieroglyphics are ancient writing which used symbols. Hieroglyphics were also used by Native Americans who

The Skull Cave has a special feature also. Skull Cave has a floor made completely out of ice. A floor of ice is incredible that means it has to stay 32 degrees fahrenheit to stay frozen. Of course you are not able to stand on it because it might break. In California the average temperature is 70 degrees and in the cave it is 38 degree drop.

The final thing that we can do at Lava Beds National Monument is go on the Trailhead. The Trailhead is the stuff in between the other important things such as Skull Cave, Big Painted Cave, Symbol Bridge. There is a lot more little caves and holes on the way. You might be able to spot artifacts while you are walking along. The animals will not disturb you if you not disturb them. The trail is blocked off with ropes on both sides so if you stay between them you will not get injured.

The most dangerous thing that can happen is jumping off rocks or cliffs and disturbing the animals. We will have teachers keeping eyes on the students. The park has railings tying off or warning you ahead of time. When a disaster could happen like the floor might be slippery, there is holes or objects are in the way, and what types of animals. All of the students will do wonderful. Nobody will get hurt and we will send out permission slips for this trip. The trip will be free students will be able to bring

On November 14, my husband and I drove out to Pawnee to visit the Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum. This site is considered to be a significant site because it includes Pawnee Bill’s ranch, his house, the site of his Wild West shows, and a museum over his life and career. If I was an Oklahoma History teacher in secondary school I would use this site as a field trip while talking about Pawnee Bill and his career. It would also be a good site to use while covering ranches, and how they worked.…

Hey Tagnet, My brother (Ethan Reuter) and I (Ian Reuter), are starting to prep for our semi-annual June trip down to TAG, and as such we are beginning to formulate a list of caves we want to visit while we are down there this summer. We love the caves down there so much, I doubt we will ever get bored of coming down. However, as we have been making trips down for a few years now we have started to exhaust the “TAG classics” list. With that said, there are some caves I feel like we have to visit every time we are down in the region since they are so awesome, but aside from those we are starting to look into some of the more obscure pits etc. As such, we had some questions about a number of pits that don’t have much info on them, and were hoping you guys could recommend them as things we should look into more, or opt to pass on.…
