Throughout everyone’s life time, whether they be five or fifty-five, there is a good chance they have been in a situation where they have had to patch things up with another individual. This is simply a part of life and personal growth and development. In spite of the fact that resolving conflict is exceptionally difficult, it is a necessary step in finding closure and redemption as represented by Jostein Gaarder’s, The Solitaire Mystery and Phil Robinson’s, Field of Dream.

Self doubt obstructs one’s view and they decide it the path of least resistance would be to avoid resolving the issue all together. Although it is frightening to step out of one’s comfort zone, the closure received in the end is worth it. During the film, Field of Dreams, Ray Kinsella puts his farm and family’s safety on the line to follow a vision in hopes of receiving redemption, which to him means forgiveness and understanding, as well as mending a broken relationship with his father. Had Ray not followed his heart and made the baseball field, he would have never been given the opportunity to restore his relationship with his father which would have left him with more guilt than before instead. Luckily for Ray, he received the closure and redemption needed for him to move on from the past. While it feels as though you will not be forgiven, oftentimes the individual will appreciate the effort and be willing to make amends. Even if things do not go as planned, you will receive a different type of closure knowing you at least tried to fix the
