Field Journal 8 This week in my CT’s Kindergarten classroom I got to take a glance on grading papers along with holding a writing group. Today was an early dismissal day for the students so they were a bit more off task than usual but that was to be expected due to the interruption in daily schedule. However, the para that helps in the classroom was also absent, so it was up to me to conduct her writing group assignment for the day.…

This assignment I chose the second option that was picking a short-term goal and creating a plan of action to address that intention. He stated that his wife was going on vacation for a week, and he needed to be able to cook food. I thought that he could place and remove cans of food from a shelf as a therapeutic activity.…

First of all, the question we are going to explore is “Whether or not playing video games increase aggressive behavior in children?” The independent variable will be violent and nonviolent video games, and the dependent variable is how much aggression was demonstrated. I will be using the naturalistic observation and experimentation methods to answer this hypothesis. According to Openstak (2014) “the greatest benefit of natural observation is the validity, or accuracy of information collected unobtrusively in a natural setting.”…

Los Angeles is a place where people of different social backgrounds lead increasingly separate, parallel lives. Individuals from all social backgrounds participate in routine activities in micro-spaces throughout the city such as purchasing a cup of coffee or riding the bus to work. These people can be a student going to school or a senior citizen out on a stroll. Even though they may cross paths and share certain spaces on a consistent basis, that does not mean that they live identical lives. Instead, they come to embody the notion of leading increasingly separate yet parallel lives.…

A prominent issue that keeps me up at night is thinking about the amount of privilege certain children of the world have and the severe lack of resources and necessities for other children. This issue has become a concern for me ever since I visited Shepherd’s Field Children Village. Shepherd’s Field Children Village is an orphanage in China where they take in children born with disabilities and give them necessary surgeries and a home until they are adopted. It was started by an American couple in memory of their friend whose dream it was to start such a place. When I visited the orphanage, I was shocked at how happy the kids were despite their disabilities.…

Every day I wake up and have to go to school. I sit in a chair, moving only between class periods all day long. I listen to teachers drone on about the topics they are teaching making sure that I get the information rather than understand it. I listen and observe children behave as if they were Neanderthals, in my opinion. I guess after twelve years of an education, my question is what causes these people to act in such ways.…

The objective for the most recent four site visits included continuation of the core competencies, which are personal and professional accountability, ethics, and active membership in a professional organization. During the four site visits, I will also continue to work on the process improvement project. Let’s begin with my cumulative increased list, first, I have decided to increase my vegetable intake by at least 1.5 cup by adding them to my smoothies or as a salad/ stemmed veggies to every meal, now by including more veggies in my diet, I am essentially helping myself “up” my intake of vitamins as well, since I am especially low in vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin D, vitamin E and folate, by increasing my consumption of veggies from different subgroups like brightly colored veggies ( e.g. sweet potatoes, carrots and red peppers) , dark leafy greens (e.g. kale, collard and spinach) and cruciferous vegetables (e.g. broccoli, brussels sprouts and cauliflower), which are packed with vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2,…
