What was the activity you participated in? I participated in HealthForce Minnesota’s annual Winona State high school scrubs camp. The camp took place on the Winona State University campus and lasted around a week in June. Campers stayed in the dorms on campus, attending class sessions during the day and doing summer activities. Some classes I took were nursing, dentistry, aging suits, chiropractic medicine, stem cell research, and many more. Night activities were often my favorite part of the day. Some night activities that I participated in were kayaking, ferryboat ride, a ropes course, movie nights, beach volleyball, and just chilling in my dorm room with my roommate. The whole camp also took field trips to a nursing home, a hospital, and …show more content…
One of the most important things I learned while attending the scrubs camp would be what it is life to live on a college campus and what the college life is really like. It was a great opportunity for me to experience considering I will be attending college in under two years. Now I know what to expect when I attend college. Another educational aspect of the camp that I valued was just the medical information that I learned. I have wanted to be a doctor since I was really little, and this scrubs camp provided me with the perfect opportunity to experience many different medical professions all in one place, allowing me to narrow down my options and start deciding what career path I want to follow. I think my favorite part of the whole learning aspect of the camp would be meeting with the surgical team. By meeting with them, it gave me the chance to look into the career field that I am really into and connect with real professionals who have experience. Along with the meeting the Winona Health surgical team, I met with many other medically trained professionals who taught me many tricks of the trade. For example, during chiropractic class, …show more content…
The first way that the camp changed my life was teaching what a college life is like and what the atmosphere will be like. The cmap was a great opportunity to check out the campus and see if I would be interested in attending Winona State. Another way that the camp made a difference in my life was it gave me a week away from home to interact with other kids, creating friendships that will last for a while. I still talk to some of the people I met during camp. Visiting the nursing home was another event that changed my life, even if it was only a half a day field trip. Getting the opportunity to interact with all the residents and hear all their stories was just fascinating to me. We also had a carnival for all the residents, and just being able to make their day and give them the opportunity to have fun made my day and hopefully made their day too. Even little changes that I can make in people's lives like that, are somethings that I want to do for the rest of my

On one Friday/Saturday early morning—3:25am (02/11/2017), Rogger Bucheli came to the Central RV Storage where I work and called me on the phone. When I answered the call, he asked me if I was at work. I told him that I was not at work. He asked me where I was that I was supposed to be at work.…
