Field Artillery Tactical Data System Specialist (FATDS) Advanced Leader Course (ALC) provides soldiers with the skills and knowledge required to develop proficiency in Mission Processing, Manual Safety, Manual Muzzle Velocity, Fire Planning, Trigger Events, Verifying and Troubleshooting the AFATDS Database, Pre planned Air Support Operations, as well as, leadership, maintenance, Military Decision Making Process, and Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield. Upon graduation I received the honor of being selected Commandants List Graduate, completing the course with a 97.70% GPA. Operating in the position of Platoon Sergeant throughout the course, receiving 3 out of 4 Superior ratings on my DA

They spend six to 18 months focusing all their attention on learning a second language at an accelerated pace and when they have accomplished that daunting task they are sent to Goodfellow Air Force Base to learn the technical aspect of their MOS, usually another three or four months of training. By the time a 35P Soldier arrives at their first duty assignment they have two or more years of service.
