My mother would often tell the story of when I was learning to ride my bike. I would fall down, get up and do it over again. I was determined to ride my bike home. I did. My mother would tell me this story every time I called her after I had fallen in one way or another. My mother passed away last year and although I still fall trying to pursue my dreams, I hear her words pushing me forward. Upon attending Fidm I plan to utilizing all of the colleges resources to refine and broaden my fashion industry knowledge and skills. I plan to take advantage of their career center to find meaningful internships that hopefully lead to a full time career. Once I graduate I intend on working for a luxury brand, eventually launching my own collection and opening a boutique. …show more content…
I need to get a degree and enter a creatively satisfying and rewarding career. With my family's help and support they are encouraging me to follow my dreams and instincts to go to FIDM. I believe FIDM is the college where I can excel, succeed and pursue a BA in fashion Design. I have had fashion shows in LA, Portland and New York. My clothing has been published in The Mercury, The Cats Meow Magazine, Gorgeous Freaks Magazine, Fly Little Guy Magazine and my design made cover dress for The Powder Room Magazine. I have participated as a fashion desgin contestant on television America's Next It Girl 2014. I have worked with the winner of 2013’s America's Next Top Model Jourdan Miller. I have given clothes to Drag Race contestant Laganja Estranja as seen on social media. With the little experience I have within the industry, I feel I have a leg up in the fashion program. Im focused in on my goals because of my experience. I feel my talent, passion and resilience will keep me poised for success in this
