Just as quickly as fidget spinners became wildly popular this year they got banned from many schools. When a student uses a fidget spinner in class and tries to get it spinner quickly the toy can slip out of the students hand and fly into another student or teachers face causing a dangerous situation. Many schools started to ban fidget spinners after they went flying across the way, nearly harming students and teachers.
High Distraction Rate
No matter what students bring into the classroom, it will ultimately distract the learning process. Whether it’s a stuffed animal, playful looking pencil or a new toy the student has brought into the classroom, you will find it a high distraction for teachers trying to educate. Fidget spinners have fast movements and often mesmerize a student which means their eyes will be on the toy versus the front of the classroom.
No Evidence they Help
While many parents argue that fidget spinners have been a saving grace for their anxious, fidgety children there isn’t any real study that has proven fidget spinners are the solution to this.
