Case Study: Fidelity Investment

Improved Essays
Being a finance major, I wanted to focus on companies that are known for their banking or retirement as my interest lies in these two sectors. One of the largest financial companies in the United States and in the world is Fidelity Investments. Currently I work as a Temp at Fidelity Investments in the operations department focusing on retirement. I thought it would be interesting to compare a position on the other side of Finance. Those who work with investments are mandated to take special Chartered Institute for securities and investment examinations, to help ensure agents are qualified to help clients. After comparing this analyst position to a similar position in the United States, I have seen that banking regulations and hiring standards are higher in the United Kingdom then they are in the United States. However despite this process, these jobs pay more in the United States compared to the United Kingdom. It is an interesting balance and helps put opportunities into perspective. Ideally I would like the opportunity to work within the United Kingdom, I believe that experiencing the difference in culture would be greatly beneficial to my professional
