He is now eighty-eight, his father, Angel Castro y Argiz was an immigrant from Spain. While he was married to his first wife, he was having affairs with a woman whom he would later marry, and have seven children with. Fidel was one of the seven. Castro attended normal schools, and when he was in high school, he proved that he was phenomenal athlete. When it was time, Castro made the decision to attend the University of Havana. While in this school, Castro mainly studied politics, and in 1947, he took part in an attempt to invade the Dominican Republic, and in 1948 he was involved in urban riots that took place in Columbia. Fidel completed college, and graduated in 1950. After this, he continued politics, while studying law, and became a member of the “reformist” Cuban People’s Party. Throughout this time, he participated in more political occasions such as when he organized a rebel force consisting of 160 men, and July 26, 1953, this team attempted a suicidal attack on the Moncada military barracks in Santiago De Cuba in hopes of kindling an uprising. Over one million Cubans immigrated to the United States in the 1960 's and 1970 's. When Cubans first started immigrating because of political differences, they came on airplanes and were dropped off in Miami. From there, they were on their own, and compelled to start a new life from scratch! Later on, airplanes eventually stopped picking up Cuban’s, so they started coming on boats or rafts! This is very risky because there are many sharks between Cuba and the United States. Cubans would rather be eaten by sharks than be ruled by Fidel Castro. Cubans are still even immigrating till this
