How Fiber Evidence Played a Role In the Case: Police found evidence of fiber in the guys car , in which they compared it to what Melissa was wearing that same night she disappeared. The police summarized it to where the outfit Melissa was wearing and found the exact same outfit. The fibers matched what they were looking for and convicted him to a sentenced to 50 years in prison.
