Feudal System In The Film A Knight's Tale

Intro: Daily life in the medieval times( between the 5th to the 15th century) was governed by the feudal system. A pyramid-shaped system of social order, it brought order and protection of communities during time of instability. The kings, who were the highest in the system, needed the goodwill and support of the Nobles and Knights, so they granted them lands in return for their military services. To actually provide their troops, they needed to train them. Training he was done during tournaments, an example of what they did can be also found in the movie ‘A Knight’s Tale’. Now the differences is quite impressively changed to suit our lives now, which is a good thing because; one there wasn’t much equality, although women were treated very differently back to the medieval times, women now have employment rights, which meant no discrimination in access to jobs, equal pay to men and still being paid on maternity leave. Equality in criminal punishment, eg, if a family wanted justice on a women it wouldn’t be fair if she didn’t have to do as much time in jail as a man would’ve done for doing the exact same action. Back then she would be considered equivalent to slaves or minors under the authority of their fathers or husbands, she also wouldn’t have equal opportunities when being educated, or to the same level as men. As has been stated, women rights have now been equalized since back then, astoundingly many doors have opened for women, leading to a chance of justice and freedom of
