Festival Of Remembrance: Pixie Lott

Improved Essays
Pixie Lott sparked outrage and was labeled "disrespectful" after she was photographed appearing to be laughing during the Festival of Remembrance over the weekend.

The annual event, which was held last Saturday to honor the fallen troops who lost their lives in world conflicts took place at the Albert Hall. However, many viewers were dismayed and hit out at Pixie for appearing to be laughing while singing the hymn 'Great is Thy Faithfulness.'

The 24 year old singer was caught on camera next to Rod Stewart, shows that she appeared grinning while singing the hymn. After the ceremony, social media was flooded with complains over her behavior at the ceremony. Lott, however, remained silent and hasn't commented nor defended herself from the speculations.

Pixie joined the event to perform at the ceremony to show her support for the fallen soldiers whose lives were lost while serving the country. After the event, she shared a picture alongside Rod Stewart, writing that she had "so much fun performing" at the Remembrance ceremony. Adding, "#lestweforget so much fun performing at the Festival of Remembrance! Amazing to hang with @rodstewart x (sic)"

In response to the floating speculations, Lott's representative told the Mirror, "Pixie was incredibly honoured to be asked to perform at The Festival Of Remembrance. Pixie is hugely supportive of The British Armed Forces and The Royal British Legion, and has the utmost respect for them. Pixie is involved with The Royal British Legion in various ways every year as it means so much to her and her family."
