The feral hog causes damage to anyhing and everything, in Texas alone the feral hogs caused 1.5 million dollars in agricultural damage, not only do they cause farming damage but the amount of residential damage has increased. From the over population of the hogs, they are starting to run out of room in forests and pastures so they are making their way in to residential areas, where they are destroying peoples lawns and yards, and people with farms and other land are having their crops, roads, fences, and livestock harmed, not only do they destroy things on a large scale they hurt things on a much smaller scale, from different types of bacteria and viruses. The overhwelming size of the pigs has made states like Texas, Oklahoma, And Arkansas implement new laws to stop are slow down the rate of the pigs, and the Idaho has had the chance to watch them struggle and basically lose the battle, so for us to not end up like those states we need to create laws here in Idaho.
One solution that could be adapted here is the free-for-all law, this law was used in texas for a short time, but they changed it with a lot more rules. The original idea was, if you see a feral hog anywhere, besides urban areas, to kill it however you could. Why? Well from reading multiple sources the feral hogs, although wild, are extremely nutritious and makes a good BBQ, There are many pros to this soultion considering the different benefits from making more pig like lots, you could replace some of the domestic pig feed lot uses with a wild feral hog which is basically identical, and would also get rid of some of the wild hogs.
