Starring Viola Davis as Rose and Denzel Washington as Troy, the scene begins with Troy, Rose’s husband of 18 years coming clean of not only his affair but of the fact his mistress is now pregnant. Set in the 1950s, the director of the film really brings the time alive just in this short scene. From not only the house decorum inside and out but also in the way both main characters are dressed and the manner in which they speak.
