Troy started having an affair with a women named Alberta, Bono and his wife were both suspicious of this. Not only was Troy betraying his wife, he became so addicted to this women that it took away time from his family. He is a loyal and supportive friend to Troy and even supports Troy's wild stories. Bono admires Troy, and throughout the book he is depicted as the follower and Troy is the leader. As the stories goes on Bono becomes more and more suspicious about Troy's affair, which begins to drive a wedge between their friendship. Troy getting the promotion at work causes them to be split up at work, and Troy having the affair separated them on a personal level. Bono says, “When you picked Rose, I was happy for you.
