The fight for gender and social equality has been going on for a long time. However, these two issues are still current big issues today. The goals of feminist therapy provide a positive insight for those who feel oppressed to come to experience equality. I would make the goals of feminist theory an objective in counseling. After achieving the goals, clients will the have the opportunity to feel as if they belong in the community. The first goal of the feminist theory is helping client's see patterns and social forces that have reduced their sense of power. The second goal is encouraging clients to reclaim power, authority, and direction in their lives. The third goal is allowing clients to experience shared power in the relationship of therapy.
