As third wave feminism carefully analyzes not only gendered inequalities in society but all avenues of intersectional inequality. There are inequalities which men face in our society as well, as a result of gendered, racial, elitist or other discriminatory beliefs, for example, a man who is poor and of a minority ethnic group may face discrimination and inequality in our society in the same manner as some women. In my opinion, men can be feminists as well as women; feminism is about equality not division of the genders. Feminist advocacy should include and incorporate men. In order achieve true equality men and women must work together rather than separating and competing for power. However, because of the nature of our patriarchal society men have the ability to “be heard” more than women. For this reason, it is especially important to include and engage both genders in feminist advocacy and equality for all.
Advocacy from the margins also seeks to expose the inequalities between people in our society and create change. Men and women in our society experience poverty, classism, ableism, racism, ageism and hederonormativity. The inequality and disparity in our society is far wider reaching than just between men and women. Although feminist activism clearly focuses on the experiences of women, feminist activism and advocacy from the margins have similar and sometimes the same intentions, from my perspective they incorporate each other and overlap in many
