The Influence Of Feminism

“Feminism is the social movement for gender and sex equality” (Green). Feminism began many years ago, is seen today, and will be seen in the future. This topic is not one to go away any time soon, it states males and females should be equal on all levels but is commonly seen by society as if one sex is more dominate than the other; typically, males are seen as the more dominate sex over females. What makes Feminism a difficult subject is that there is not necessarily a correct answer or just one answer. Feminism has many answers, but who is to say what the acceptable answer is? While researching the topic all sources stated their views on how feminism should be dealt with; both the feminist and anti-feminist YouTube videos were not as effective …show more content…
The clip begins at a good pace with the host introducing Suzanne Venker (anti-feminist), though this is the only point where there seems to order in the video; once they began the discussion on The War On Men by Venker the conversation begins to pick up the pace. The conversation starts by Venker claiming that “the younger generation of women are being raised differently; they’re taught to be independent and believe that they can do great things themselves without the help of a man causing the women to be more contentious then needed.” (Venker). Once that was said each of the other five people began to give their input and talk over one another. By each individual consistently doing this and trying to rush to get their point across, it makes the video become less effective because the audience member’s attention is quickly shifting to each person speaking, not giving themselves time to take in what was just said. Not only is the rushing an issue in the video, but also the intense feeling given off to the …show more content…
The tone is calm, serene, and did not attack others views, whereas each video came across as if the audience was being yelled at or told they were wrong about their own views and thoughts. In the article Venker post comments from people who do not agree with her anti-feminist viewpoint, however she responds to them peacefully and respectfully instead of yelling at them or telling them they are thinking incorrectly about this particular topic. The way she goes about answering each comment is what makes the article most effective, she does not make the audience feel stupid or that they are flawed for the way that each individual thinks; she also expresses her own opinions without being rude. Yet, her tone isn’t the only thing that makes the article the most effective, the article is also effective due to how easy it was to follow

The video makes fun of news anchors by pointing out a variety of tropes and stereotypes. The most prominent Rhetorical method being used in this instance is Pathos. The video plays on our own personal frustrations with news outlets and gives us the chance to laugh at them. Michael Austin puts it this way; “When writers appeal to anger, they frame an issue in a way that angers an audience and then use that anger to reinforce their claim.” (607) The “claim” in this example is a subconscious one that tries to put forth the idea that, you should laugh at this video.…

All throughout the history of the world there has always been the issue that man is superior to woman. This has been an ongoing fight that women of all races and ethnicities have been faced with in some way or form. In Patricia L. Bryan and Thomas Wolf’s nonfiction novel Midnight Assassin, the authors portray Mrs. Hossack’s as a weak feminine character, this causes her trial to be slanted due to her presumed feminine traits: through the lenses of feminism, this brings the issue of categorizing women to fit specific profiles to the light of the reader. To expand, the term feminism has been used vaguely and not many people understand the true ideals of the movement. Feminism is the advocacy of woman’s rights fighting for equal roles as men…
