Women Equality Essay

For over a century, women have tackled the task of gaining equality with men. It is considered a complex and societial shifting movement. The emphasis on feminism has grown exponentially in the last few decades, taking wind alongside the Civil Rights Movement. The increase of feminism has also been the result of the popularity of the topic on social media. Websites, like Buzzfeed, show strong support for the feminist movement. The search for equality among men and women has been a fierce battle and even in places where there seems to be no need for argument. There have been many places that the issue has brought up valid points, but still there seems to be over zealous opinions refuting the credibility of said points. Women are the current focus of gender issues and it does not take into account that men will not seem as important as women in society´s social standing. There will be social hierarchy created by women and it will become a matriarchal society. With women consistently getting more rights, women will soon become the only beneficiary of the women’s rights movement, instead of being beneficial for both genders. It will no longer be freeing but restricting freedom except this time, the restrictions will be made by women, not men. Moreover, women will not be embracing their feminity, they will be rejecting it.
