Feminism defines feminism as “the belief that men and women deserve equality in all opportunities, treatment, respect, and social rights.” However, ways of seeing issues differs amongst feminists. It is important to understand the difference between what was done and what the two did to help women earn equal rights, especially how they got the vote. Also the comparison between Canadian women and African American women in the US. The government of Canada states that “Canada is a world leader in the promotion and protection of women’s rights and gender equality.” This quote says that Canada supports women’s rights. Fair treatment of women in public services and could potentially help women get more and better jobs. It is said that people who have to obey the laws should have a voice in making them. Just like anyone who pays taxes should also have the right to vote and have a say in the law. It would also help the women who need help because it would make them feel more equal and as important as men and they would start to be able to do more things, like get a better job and get more money to support the family. For example, Liberal Feminists would look at what happened on the bus to Rosa Parks and decide that the bus rules should change so that both races can sit where ever they want on the bus at anytime. While Socialist Feminists would say that the way white people view back people should change and they should look at them as actual people like they’re supposed to be. The way that business are run that they only hire men and the few female that may work there would be payed a lot lower, Liberal Feminists would just change the rules to that both women and men should be treated and paid equally.
