We have all heard of feminism or at least heard of a feminist. Now what is feminism? Feminism is the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men. Women have come a long way from not being able to work and basically being forced to stay home and do housework all day to being able to vote, get an education, and have a job. It was always believed that men were superior to women. In 1895 Susan B. Anthony, a civil rights leader, said “No man is good enough to govern any woman without her consent” (Anthony) . This type of feminism attracts a ton of negative media attention. They create groups that exclude males completely. Just recently a group of radical feminists hosted a Meetup in London that excluded all men, including men who considered themselves women, otherwise known as transgender. These feminists hate men or anyone who believes that men should be in control. They throw “tantrums” about men being paid more. Yes men get paid more, but aren’t men the ones who should be supporting the family? Men only get paid more because of job choices. The more popular choice for a man 's job pays higher than the females popular job choice. April 9th is celebrated as Pay Equity Day. This marks the number of extra days in 2013 that the average woman must work to earn as much as the average man earned in 2012. Women make 77 cents of every dollar a man makes. The women choose to work in lucrative careers, to work less hours and take time out of paid labor to stay home to care for children or elderly relatives. They fight for women 's rights, correct? Wrong. They fight for the rights already given to women by not only men but society. A big issue with the gender dispute is that men get paid more than women. Why is this so important? Let’s say that there is a male CEO and there is a female Managing Director. The median annual salary median for a CEO is $681,798 and the annual salary median for a Managing Director is $122,987. Let’s face it, the CEO is a higher job than the MD. Of course the CEO will get paid more, it’s how the job or federal system works. If you switch the roles around and there is a female CEO, there you go feminists, you did it. The women are paid more than men. But do you know why, because she is better at her job, more trusted in her job field to hold that position. It all comes down to who does the job better, who is more qualified to hold the position. Not the gender of the person, that is just ridiculous. Lets take for example this
