I am applying for membership in the Female Leadership Academy for several reasons. First of all, I have been eager to join this every since I have heard of it in 8th grade. Joining this life changing academy, I will be granted the opportunity of improving and gaining leadership skills. Different types of such skills include of self, team, organizational, political, and transcendent. Leadership plays an immense role in my life. Joining will also help me build my values in life. (Power, success/achievement, stability/security, respect, knowledge, and friendship) Knowing your values helps you “...make decisions more easily because they are based on a foundation of values that serve as a reference point when prioritizing actions, commitments, and goals.” Lastly, I can get networking opportunities if I join the Female Leadership Academy.

I have several educational goals set aside for myself. One goal is to become valedictorian. With this being set in mind, I will continue to take the challenging paths and strive for excellence. I am currently a 9th grader in WAVE taking all accelerated classes and so far on the right path of reaching my valedictorian goal. In addition to being valedictorian, I plan on furthering my educational career here at the University of Southern California. I am planning on taking courses at LBCC during the summer and maintaining a low-stress level while doing so. I see myself as someone who is a very involved leader in school and outside of

First of all, I hope this amazing organization can help me pursue my goals of becoming an excellent leader. I hope that F.L.A can also help me become a great inspirational person for any person to look up to whether it is a teacher, Wilson high school student, special needs student, or etc. Finally, I hope this year’s Female Leadership Academy equips me with the skills and tools I will need through my whole schooling
