The studio would play Nixon’s track on a loop and Doolittle had to give her best effort at matching the melody that Nixon had set. She would spend hours working on this song because of the importance the studio placed on its accuracy. The studio wanted recording to be as unaltered as possible so it did not ruin Doolittle’s image.
