'Female Empowerment In My Daughter's Song Roar'

Improved Essays
I have plenty of “female empowerment” songs in my playlist, but I choose my daughter’s favorite song, “Roar” because of its motivational aspect for young girls. The song is a bit old, but it’s still her anthem and she will make you nauseous every time she sings it on top of her lungs. What makes this song so powerful is because it empowers women to break the mold of female stereotypes. The idea of a woman “roaring” conjures an image that women can take care of themselves much like Katy’s image portrays in the music video. She asserted her strength, overcame her fears and conquered the jungle. She made herself a beautiful place in the jungle to live, where the animals became her friends and not her enemies. My favorite part of the video is when

Jessica Risner Heather Ward English 1101-41 October 5, 2015 “Love You Forever” Literary Analysis One of my favorite stories to read to my daughter is “Love You Forever” by Robert Munsch. The story is about a mother who sneaks into her son’s room, once he is sleeping, and sings a song to him. She sings to him these words “I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living, my baby you’ll be (pg. 14).” My favorite part about this story is that once her son is a teenager, and even a grown adult, she still sneaks into his room and sings her song to him.…

chose this song because I enjoy listening to it and because it’s inspiring song. This song touches me personally right down to the core when I am in a bad mood it gets me up and motives me to do my best. Katy Perry’s “Firework” song is an empowering thing, full of real people discovering their inner beauty and stepping out loudly and proudly, no matter what their detractors may say. “I think that’s why I wrote it, is because I really believe in people and I believe that people have a spark to be a firework,” Katy Perry told MTV News at Sunday night’s MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid. “It’s just up to them, and a lot of times it’s only us that’s standing in the way of reaching our goals, fulfilling our destinies, being the best version of who…

The first thing the 503.3 million viewers of the “Blurred Lines” music video on Vevo saw was Thicke lying in bed with a topless model while his arm assumes a dominant position over her body almost completely blocking her from the view of the camera. While this position may be perceived as simply cuddling, in the realms of this music video that reflects…

In the song Roar sung by Katy Perry, it explains that how the singer is going to stand up for herself and make sure that she is heard. This is teaching people that they can stand up for yourself to anyone and he/she will feel better when they do so. The first verse, “I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath” would be an idiom because that would hurt her tongue and she would pass out from the lack of oxygen. It would be realistic for her to do that.…

__I think the meaning of the song that Beyoncé wrote is describing pain and what females have to go to or young teens go through, trying to impress the world, and society. How that all what we do don’t mean anything or how we present ourselves maybe we aren’t too happy on the inside maybe everything isn’t all that’s well. I like the song genre because it really feels like music for our souls trying to heal it also. The new generation now we teenagers are affected by this particular song. I think the most powerful lyrics of the song is “pretty Hurts”, because that is the pain of the song the ultimate feelings that’s what she’s trying to get the audience to understand.…
