Throughout the past 100 years, gender roles of men and women have started to change greatly in our society, and especially in the world of sports. Recently, female athletes have made great strides in gaining equal representation, and media coverage, in comparison to the past, where there was little coverage of female athletics. As a new driver in Louisiana I've noticed two major things. Number one that car crashes occur often and number two that insurance is extremely and unnecessarily high. The number of car accidents in Louisiana 2015 was a jarring number of 168,407 and 757 of those car accidents being fatal according to LSU's research data. (Dr. Schneider 2015). This seems like a result of major budget cuts to the traffic division of New Orleans police department where there were only 32 officers employed in this division at the time.…

Alcohol and its consumption has had a tumultuous history, at best, concerning the United States. From the clear stance against the consumption of alcohol embodied in the temperance movements and the eventual prohibition of alcohol through the eighteenth amendment to the U.S. Constitution to the equally clear acceptance of alcohol signified by the repeal of Prohibition through the twenty-first amendment and the proliferation of bars and liquor shops throughout the country, it is apparent that in the U.S. there has been a divide concerning how alcohol and its consumption should be – if at all – regulated. Beyond the general issue of the production, sale, and consumption of alcohol, though, there lies the issues of ‘who should drink how much and…
