In all of Kendridge’s artwork, he shows concern about his native country. In his drawings, he leaves marks and erases so there is a feeling of movement and tension between past and present. In Felix in Exile, it shows one character looking into the mirror and sees deceased character. I was intrigued by this mixed media, because it tells a sympathetic story. Also, his artwork, History of the Main Complaint, also intrigued me. In this mixed media, Kendridge draws a man on a hospital bed with an oxygen mask on. In a sense, this represents making the powerful made powerless. He is mocking the fact that the politicians in that time, weren’t focused on the loss and problems in their society, but are now powerless and grasping for air and essentially
