Every book has characters and setting. The book “A Snicker Of Magic” mostly centers Felicity Pickle who is the main character. Felicity Pickle is a sixth grader who is unusual on in her way. Felicity is shy and timid, but she is a wonderful writer. Also she lets everyone take her everywhere without questioning. But what makes her weird is the fact that she collects words and sees them hover around things and people. Felicity has never had friends and has never found the word home.When Felicity stays at midnight Gulch everything changes. Mama, Felicity’s mom, is a depressed person, but later on cheers up. She had a hard time when her husband abandoned her, leaving her with their two children. Her usual solution to everything is to leave …show more content…
Aunt Cleo, Felicity’s aunt, is a cranky woman who has a quilting business. Aunt Cleo has a bad habit of smoking and collects plastic hedgehogs. She had once a relationship with Day Grissom, but it ended. Oliver, owner of Dr. Zook’s Ice Cream, is the original Beedle. He is a lonely man whose late wife passed away. When he was young, he used to be greedy and selfish but he changed. On his arm there is a tattoo of a dove. The dove is part of the magic in Midnight Gulch. Finally there is Florentine, Florentine is a mysterious old woman who talks to Felicity about her past..Boone, Felicity’s uncle, thinks he is a failure and is There are other characters, but they are not really mentioned that much. Midnight Gulch was once a magical place. Where people had magic in their veins. The Threadbare brothers had the most wonderful magic. They left Midnight Gulch to perform their magic which was music. Then they had a duel.Who lost would never use their magic and would be cursed. After the duel Stone lost and later on the magic of Midnight Gulch started to fade away. But when Felicity arrives, she knows there is still magic, but it is hidden. The problem in the book is that Felicity wants a place to call home and make friends.But her mom wants to keep
