Feilability Of Peltier Technology

Material selection
The main purpose of outer material is to provide enough insulation. So minimum heat transfer coefficient is required for the outer material. Other selection criteria are:
1. Cost
2. Environment friendly
3. Availability
Alternatives along with heat transfer coefficient are:
• Wood : 0.19 w/m/k
• Plastics: 0.29 w/m/k
• Polystyrene foam: 0.04 w/m/k
• Polyurethane foam: 0.03 w/m/k
From the above alternative more suitable outer materials are Polystyrene foam and Polyurethane foam. Among them polystyrene is less costly than other one. So polystyrene is selected for prototype.
7.4 Feasibility of technology
Even though peltier is common for small cooling application. It is relevant to check the feasibility of peltier technology

7.5 Design of core unit- cooling/heating module
Peltier element with the suitable heat sink is the core cooling and heating component of the proposed design. Because heat extraction power of the peltier element depends on the efficiency of the heat sink or how much heat rejected. So we need additional fan along with the heat sink to speed up the heat extraction there by it produce cold chamber very

Hot side of the peltier is attached to the heat sink. Cold part is exposed to the chamber.
7.6 Design of chamber
Double Chamber is used in this prototype, one chamber for cooling and other for heating. As per morphological chart we proposed two model for chamber part.
1. Side by side configuration
2. Top and bottom configuration

Side by side configuration
In this configuration, two chamber placed side by side and core unit is placed at the center. It can be either detachable or not. Core unit (peltier with heat sink and fan)

Cold chamber will be the smaller one compared to the hot chamber. To make it more portable we have provided a necessary seating arrangement at the sink to detach and attach the hot chamber. We can put the whole cooling unit into the hot chamber since the cold chamber is smaller than the hot chamber. This will help to carry the unit where ever we go.
Top and bottom configuration
In this configuration cold chamber is at the top and hot chamber is at the bottom side. Here also the cold chamber is small and we can make the whole structure as detachable type or not.

3 Design Solutions To succeed in meeting the design goals and comply with the clients objectives to increase production at minimal cost for a range of biscuit diameters, Amorphous System successfully completed the modelling and design on a number of conveyor widths, motor and oven selections. The model provided the following outcome for each conveyor width: 3.1 Conveyor C-06 Conveyor C-06 offer three options. The conveyor motor selection for all three options is an M-15 (150W) motor, however the oven selection can be selected for an O-06 (6kW) or O-09 (9kW) oven. The disadvantage of selecting the smaller oven is that the thermal power of the oven will only be suitable for two biscuit diameters, diameters 50mm and 55mm.…

    Pill Bug Lab Report

My hypothesis was that pill bugs would be more attracted to a warmer environment in comparison to a colder one. However, the results of my experiment refute my claim. Initially I thought that the pill bugs would be naturally drawn to the warmer temperatures due to the fact that pill bugs are cold-blooded and need heat to survive but, for this experiment that was not the case. On average, there were 7 isopods in the cold chamber and 2 in the warm one. At the most there were 8 isopods in the cold chamber, whereas in the warm chamber, there was at the most 4.…

These structures were made with PVC pipe and hard mesh. The PVC pipe was cut so it would be one meter tall and have a total of six arms branching off that are half a meter in length. Three arms on top and three arms on bottom. Holes were drilled into the ends of all of the arms to allow a plate to be attached. From those three arms a plate with squares was zip tied securely to each pipe so the organisms could attach themselves to it.…

While it can be difficult to maintain the water temperature in a tank, it's absolutely necessary that you have one. There are two reasons for this. First of all, if your Betta gets too stressed out over a period of time, his immune system will become compromised, and he'll begin to lose his ability to fight off infection and disease. The second reason is that your Betta is used to living in water that is between 75 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit - and he will become listless and unresponsive if the water is too far above or too far below that temperature.…

Introduction: Aerobic cellular respiration is the process in which energy is being released from organic compounds by chemical oxidation. In this lab we compared the change of the consumption of oxygen in germinating peas as it underwent changes in temperatures of either ten degrees Celsius, or 22 degrees Celsius (room temp.) to the oxygen consumption of dried peas as it also underwent the same temperatures of ten and 22 degrees Celsius. I hypothesized that the germinating peas would consume more oxygen than the dormant/dry peas at the 22 degree temperature rather than at the ten degree temperature because the germinating peas are supporting growing tissues and need the oxygen and proper conditions to continue to develop, whereas the dry…

There have been many prehistoric structures found by archeologists all over the world, one of them being the megalithic temples of Malta. Archeologists have dated the temples from 4000- 2500 BC, making it older than the pyramids and Stonehenge. The temples were made out of stone and consisted of an incomplete dome and horizontal arch and post and animal hide coverings. Most of the temples had a basic floor plan of a variable number of hemispheric chambers branching off from a narrow entrance path. Though not much was known about the Maltese people that made the temples, most scholars believe that the temples were used for rituals to worship a mother goddess.…

When you enter in this zone there should not be any merchandise as it takes a moment to adjust speed and to the lighting, it takes about fifteen minutes to become accustomed to the difference (Levine).…

Since most of the human body is made of water and by lowering the body below the freezing point of water will result in massive ice formation. Cryonic facilities can’t simply put patients into a vat of liquid nitrogen because their cells would freeze and simply shatter. Because of this reason, patients are protected from ice damage by using a mixture or agent (sort of a human antifreeze) to reduce, or even eliminate, ice formation. Conventional bypass technologies are used to circulate the solution throughout the body. When enough water is replaced with the agent, the patient is maintained at cryogenic temperatures for long-term care.…

This allows us to design buildings within which all occupants will be thermally comfortable. The aim of a building, either dwellings or commercial buildings is to offer shelter and a different climate from the world outside . One of the factor to consider to build a favourable place to work or live is the thermal comfort.…

Introduction: In this lab, seven test tubes containing solutions in equilibrium had different stresses added to them to examine the balance in each example. The purpose of the experiment was to indentify the details of shifting in equilibrium reactions and determine how the adding of a stress can affect a reaction. A chemical reaction that is in equilibrium is reversible, where a reactants can create products and products can go back to products. Equilibrium is reached when the rate of a forward reaction is the same as the reverse reaction and the concentration of the reactants and products are equal. In a written reaction, equilibrium is represented by two arrows going in opposite directions between the products and the reactants.…
