Feedback is useful in any facet of your life, whether it is in your personal life, in your career, or in a school setting because it allows you to know more about yourself, your behaviors, your personality, and increases self-awareness. Feedback is one of the best ways to evaluate the progress between where you are, your current state, and where you want to be, your desired state. Feedback whether positive or negative can enrich your skills and behaviors and aide you towards achieving success. Through the use of effective feedback one will be able to assess the progress between their current state of being and where they wish to be. In a school setting, process feedback would be extremely beneficial because it tells you specifically what you need to do differently as you are working on a task. By receiving feedback, one is able to elicit a productive response that is specifically targeted to oneself and use the positive feedback to enhance the negative feedback and convert it into an improvement. For example, a study by Selma Akalin and Bulbin Sucuoğlu analyzed the effects of performance feedback on classroom intervention and the outcomes of the dyads between students and the teacher. This study demonstrated that performance feedback can desirably change the behaviors of the teacher in the classroom and offer new opportunities to apply newly learned methods in the classroom.
