Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is one of the largest sporting events in the world. It touches the world, develops the game, and builds a better future through a variety of ways (FIFA, 2015), but, unfortunately, deals with corruption and scandalous deeds within the organization. The scandal has been publicized due to the controversial announcement of Qatar’s controversial win of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament. There have been alleged briberies and dealings that seem to link with Qatar’s win. This caused an outrage around the world, as it was a supposed ethical failure that affected the integrity and reputation of the game. President Sepp Blatter and his executive committee have been under intense scrutiny due to the fact that all business related decisions and information ran through them. Key stakeholders such as sponsors are embarrassed to be a part of a corrupt organization, as it also damages their brands image and reputation. The host country elections for the 2018 & 2022 World Cups were held in 2010, which were awarded to Russia and Qatar, respectively. The public started to raise eyebrows as to why Qatar were awarded the honor of hosting the tournament, as it would be played in June, their hot season. The suspicions lead to an investigation in May 2013 from former New York district attorney Michael Garcia in which he found possible linkages in briberies.
