Many consider the media to at times be other inaccurate or used for spreading fear which can be displayed through numerous terror threats that have recently happened in western Australia. A clear example of this is the terror plot to behead a random Sydney citizen in late 2014. This act quickly attracted the media which according to David Malet (ABC) is used to promote acts of terror, somewhat glorifying a cruel act. Although at times dramatized compared to other events happening in society, these plots raise the question if Australia is ready to defend itself from these attacks if necessary. Along with this Western journalists and reporters have been held captive in Iraq and Syria at times leading to their deaths being recorded and uploaded to induce fear into societies. The government must also use these strategies so that the public maintains confidence in the countries response to any threat that may occur in Australia or a form of home grown terror which could again have a threat on the country of Australia.
