Fear Never Bothers Me Analysis

I am a 27 year London born Pop Singer who produced a number one hit in 2007 before signing a multi-million dollar record deal. I am a 6 foot All- American quarterback who led my college team to its first Rose Bowl in 67 years before being the second overall pick in the 1998 NFL draft. I was the young actor who stole the heof audiences in Forrest Gump before nearly winning an Academy Award 5 years later. Yet, none of these achievements are even a drop in the bucket of my potential. That's what EVERYONE TOLD ME. Because no one thought that singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse would overdose on drugs; that quarterback Ryan Leaf would get caught embezzling money from a high school football team; of that Haley Joel Osment would go from “seeing dead people” …show more content…
People get so consumed with all the “what if’s” that they slowly let it break & rot them.So “what if” I asked you your worst fears? As I sat in philosophy class, I listened to the discussion about “The Color of Fear” (documentary). Many people sat quiet in efforts to keep arguments and insults at bay. She finished her statement with a further explanation, “I had a rough life growing up and I never got everything I wanted; therefore, I’m sure I was not privileged by my race”.…

In the novel “Fear and Trembling” by Soren Kierkegaard, one of the main topic discussed was ethical and how it was associated with the universal. Also, how ethical is related to tragic hero and the knight of faith. For instance, the action of a tragic hero, like agamemnon sacrificing his daughter is still ethical because his action was done publicly and for common good. Jeffrey Jerome Cohen in his article “Fear of the Monster is Really a Kind of Desire” examines the issue of being with a monster or better be the monster ourselves. The desire it can be either for power, freedom, or even just to be the center of attention. “We distrust and loathe the monster at the same time we envy its freedom, and perhaps its sublime despair” (Cohen, 190). People tend to watch scary movies and read monster stories and feel attracted to one of the monsters and wish to be that monster. In Halloween is the only time when a human being can express the realm of the monster they want to be just for a night and celebrate by asking for candy in the neighborhood or having a Halloween party.…

My entire life I have always wanted to do something where I would be remembered positively by many people. I recall always telling myself I was going to become a backup dancer for a famous singer, become a singer myself, or maybe an actress. Better yet, I thought I could have been all three. As I entered middle school, I realized those goals were too surreal to even become the slightest bit possible, mainly since I am located in an area that most people haven’t even heard of. Back then, I was very uncertain about any career goals I have had.…
