Fear, Lead To The Importance Of Fear

Being home alone on a dark, cloudy, night. The house stands quietly, with no sign of a human being except for a young girl sitting down on the sofa watching television. The whole house seems to be at rest with the sound of the television keeping the house awake. As time stands still, the door suddenly slams open. The noises of a crow’s screech along with numerous dog barks begin filling throughout the house. The girl in less than two seconds begins to breathe heavily, muscles tightening, heart speeding up, pounding which now fills the silent house. A split second later the young girl notices that the cause of the slamming door was only the wind. Every individual knows the feeling of “fear”. In a better way to understand this remember that Spiderman’s Spidey senses signaled when trouble was nearby. Those shock waves indicated Spiderman 's exposure to danger. If fear wasn’t around, “We wouldn 't survive for long. We’d be walking into oncoming traffic, stepping off of rooftops and carelessly handling poisonous snakes” (Layton). The reaction that individual’s bodies receive in the presence of danger shows the importance of fear. In addition, fear provides individuals with a warning that reminds each person that the actions they’re about to commit will end up greatly affecting them if fears ignored. The same feeling each individual experience throughout horror, thriller movies represents the identical sense of fright which shows that one’s gut instinct plays an important role to listen to. Therefore,the reasons for this alertness works because, “When you sense something potentially dangerous, the amygdala sends excitatory signal to the other parts of the brain, effectively saying, ‘Hey everyone, pay attention!” (Shere). Numerous amounts of individuals don’t actually take the time to notice the importance that fear provides. Fear should be given the chance and be seen in different ways because without it no one would be able to experience the events that they are now exposed to.
