“Fear is inevitable, I have to accept that, but I cannot allow it to paralyze me.” Standing there while letting it wrap around like a blanket, will not do any good. Instead one must conquer it, and there are various ways to do that. Anger helps to distract and give a focus other than the fear. Clenching fists and widening eyes all help to let it out. Then there is the opposite, self talk. This has a more calming effect with positive thoughts and a way to make one believe the opposite of the fear. Violence may not always be the answer, but it sure does work to help one overcome. Letting it out on others makes one feel better about themselves, unless guilt takes over. Dulce was indeed very beautiful, as said by the young men from the other villages. Tadeo Céspedes was the one who had destroyed lives with acts of violence, especially one in particular. The moment he saw the angel holding a dying man in her arms, he knew he needed her. When he first saw her he specifically told his men, “The woman is mine” before they could even lay their hands on her. Therefore, his possessiveness made him sure of what he wanted. How did he manage to get from wanting to kill others, to wanting to hold someone in his arms? Could a normal person even imagine it? He even waited for the perfect moment, thirty years to be exact, to go meet the woman of his dreams. This says, “Patience is a virtue.” Colonel, on the other hand, didn 't have any patience after Belisa had whispered the two words to him. He was losing his manhood so fast that, El Mulato had to go fetch Belisa. Colonel is not as strong as him.
