Fear shows our weaknesses while faced in a terrifying situation. Written by Chinua Achebe, African story Things fall apart. True American story Perfect storm. Science fiction movie Thor. Written by Sophlices Greek play Oedipus. Fear is normal to have but hard to overcome.

Failure is refusing to move toward a specific goal. When Okonkwo would think about his unsuccessful father he would purposely remove the thought with his own strength and success. He would also deal with anything that wouldn’t meet his standards. One day Nwoye and Ikemufuna were working with Okonkwo in the barn where Okonkwo notices a messy job from Nwoye and Ikemufuna. Okonkwo yells at them both and causing them both to become more terrified of Okonkwo, wouldn’t want to mess anything up. Okonkwo also yells at Ekwefi, one of his wives for pouring water into a pot and asking:’ is that enough?” Anger got the best of him while sarcastically asking “is she deaf?’. This goes to show that even though Okonkwo ask for help, Okonkwo just wants it a specific order to not remind him of his unsuccessful father Unoka.

Okonkwo loves his children and wouldn’t want to see anything bad happen to them, Enzima was his favorite child who where he would changes his own behavior for. Enzima being Ekwefi only child that is living gets a fever. Violent coughs get Okonkwo attention and rushes out of bed to her and prepares a remedy for her to cure the fever. Just to get Okonkwo to become in a worried position for his daughter caused him to show a sign of not only weakness but carrying.
