Fear In Ayn Rand's Anthem

In Anthem, people are afraid to speak up, to falling in love, and to protest. The universal truth about fear is that it affects everyone of us, we never know what we are truly capable of achieving. Just like those people in the book, they don’t know what they are capable of. The more people protest together, more likely they would success, but too bad that they are afraid to break the law and face the consequences.

We cannot speak up when somebody is about to die for to protest or to let their voices to be heard. You won’t speak up because you know what is, the consequences are. They didn’t know what is the freedom, which thank goodness that we have first amendment for free speech or otherwise we will go to jail every time we insult the president or such things like that example. …show more content…
Would you suffer for love? Would you rather be not in love instead of in love with your soulmate? Fear is what stopped them, it overcomes people's emotions. In that period, you cannot fall in love, get married, have children together. You just meet someone for the first time then have sex with them for one night only in Mating place. That’s not how you would imagine love.

Fear makes us do things we don’t want to, because we are afraid of punishment. So they don’t protest. You would get killed or go to jail for a while. For a long while. They are very strict about their laws to protect the people to get the idea of something and think them as individuals. They would tell you what to do, controlling your life while you suffer inside, you knew you cannot protest because of the fear. A good time to protest is to have a huge group organization, big enough to change the world… Too bad they wouldn’t say such as like that to a one breathing living
